Production Notes: Pre-Storyboard

I started working on this thing about a year ago, did not get very far on it because of a bunch of things: health, work, no stable computers. I did manage at one point to do a rough stroryboard using Print Master and that was as far as I got. The lyrics were way to short and did not tell the complete story.

This time around, I doubled the lenght of the verses so that the story does not rely to heavly on narration. I also will be using HTLM, instead of a proprietary program, to do the revised storyboard. I can then add links to completed sections of the project as they get done.

Deep Ones(Pre-Storyboard Version)

Lyrics byDavid Reichen

Based on "Shadow over Innsmouth", by H P Lovecraft

Production Notes:
The song is basically "Superbeast", by Rob Zombie, with some re-arragments.
The first part of the chorus line, the one that starts with "the ragged they come" is repeated twice. The first time it is actually part of the verse. It is part of the chorus on the second time. There is also an extra ending verse that refers back to the story.

[
Introduction:
There are things that are best left unknown. Had I paid attention to such a statement I would have been able to live a long and boring life; however, I have been cursed with curiosity. Herein is my tale of what transpired that lonely night so long ago, which to this very day I am still filled with dread at its mere recollection.
]

1.
Shrieking through jagged teeth, the voices call out while you dream.Foretelling of things to be, you wake up with a tortured scream.

All your life you feel drawn to a place you've never been before.When you get there you can see shapes rising up from the shore.

Chorus
Luring you down to the sea, the sirens sing so longingly.
Luring you down to the sea, down with the deep ones you will be.

Dagon! Is the one that we follow.
Dagon! Unleash the Beast.
Dagon! Is the one that we follow.
Dagon! Unleash the Beast.

[
At the Shore:
As the shapes came closer and closer, I began to understand what they have been calling out to me all along, "IA, IA, Cthulhu fhtagn!!"
Oh, NO! This can not be happening.
]

2.
Reaching out, they grab your wrists. Trigger changes held dormant.No More Humanity! Your mind is cleared of torment.

Changes made, glued back again, strands rip apart and recoil.You feel so lame, in such pain, it's like your blood has come to a boil.

Chorus

[
The Change:
There I lay, on that muddy shore, wreathing in utter pain. They enclosed me in what I can only describe as a body bag. They then dragged me slowly, so slowly, beneath the waves.
]

3.
Kiss your old life goodbye. Your life begins anew.Dive into the ocean blue, land no longer has a hold on you.

Flee the land return to the sea, escape reality's nightmare.Far from shore, you can be free, come join us down in our lair.

Chorus

[
At Dawn:
The next morning, no trace could be found of what had happen that night, everything washed away by the tide. It was presumed that I died, lost at sea, drowned and dead, never to be seen by mere mortal eyes again.
]

4.
Burn the town, bomb the reef, we don't need that kind of grief.Don't resist, can't you see, you'll be getting no relief.

They say we're weak and we're meek, it's all just one big lie.When global warming comes again we'll watch the land sizzle and fry.

Chorus

[
Epilog:
We shall swim out to that brooding reef in the sea and dive down through black abysses to Cyclopean and many columned Y'ha-nthlei, and in that lair of the Deep Ones we shall dwell amidst wonder and glory forever.
"Shadow over Innsmouth", by Howard Phillips Lovecraft
